It is on the cross that atonement for sin took place. It was to the cross that our own bill of charges was nailed and upon which was then overwritten the phrase, “Paid in full.” The resurrection proved our justification, but the cross provided the payment. Over the coming weeks we will linger in the shadow of the cross.
